Join our Central Support Team
We'd like you to help us with our enquiries
Surrey Police is inviting applications for its Central Support Team. The Central Support Team is in effect an in-house temping agency for the Force. As part of the team you will be employed on a casual basis and called upon to take on a wide variety of temporary assignments within the Force.
The work is extremely varied and covers all aspects of policing from public facing duties such as working on our Front Counters and in our Shared Business Service Centre to administrative and secretarial roles. You will be expected to be extremely flexible in terms of working hours and location and be available to work a minimum of 28 hours per week. This could include working unsociable hours up until 1am.
We are looking for individuals with a wide range of skills. As a minimum you will be expected to have a good all round level of computer literacy and to be fully conversant with Microsoft Office packages. You will also need to have an excellent level of customer service, be flexible in your approach to work and be able to work well as part of a team. Training on our in-house packages will be offered but you’ll be expected to hit the ground running and be able to work well under pressure as well as adapting quickly to changing demands.
In return you’ll gain an exposure to the policing environment and be able to contribute to the successful running of Surrey Police.
"Join the Central Support Team, and you'll be making a vital contribution to tackling crime in Surrey."
You'll need:
- Reasonable skills with Microsoft Office
- The flexibility and confidence to regularly take on new tasks and challenges
- The maturity to handle a variety of situations and deal with people from all walks of life
- The character to work either as part of a team or (sometimes) alone
- Articulate communication skills and a friendly manner
- Be able to offer us a minimum of 28 hours per week
If you meet the above criteria and can offer us at least 28 hours per week, we'd be delighted to hear from you.
If your application is successful you'll be offered an attractive hourly rate and any necessary training.
